THE HUMAN FAILINGS IN THE CIRCLE OF LOVE

When I was talking about the Circle of Love or the Family, I am sure there were many fathers and mothers and even children, who just saw my post as idealism, and something they could never attain.   But let me explain a little further, I was not talking about a family of saints, for sainthood is something we all are required to strive for and not easily attained.   No, there will be arguments and disagreements, some may even be heated, but when we are quarrelling do we really stop loving?   Now that is the key.   If such disputes lead to people in the family not talking to one another, then the circle is in danger.    The trouble is, as I said, that we are a family of humans and not necessarily a family of saints.   When we work at our quarrels in a spirit of love there is always forgiveness and healing, and indeed it is the many acts of forgiveness that builds up love.   My wife and I have had since we married, a certain practice.   If we go to bed with a quarrel, when we wake the next morning that quarrel must never be resumed.   It is over.   We have both forgiven each other and do not demand any more of each other, no admissions of wrong to satisfy our pride.   My wife has forgiven me or I have forgive her, and there is a mutual understanding of this.

Married life is not easy, despite having courted one another when you settle down to actually live with a stranger and find all the faults you never spotted before, you must always approach the problems with love and kindness.   Just wonder what your partner has spotted in you.   But parents love your children to distraction, so that your children will love you.    And there are times when you may feel lonely and abandoned because of the trials of life, and that is when the third partner in your marriage comes into help.   At your wedding it was God who joined you together, and it is God and his angels and saints who will be there to give that added help and peace to you in all your trials.   Always, always, remember them and make prayer a feature of your home so that even strangers who visit you can feel the presence of the Peace of God.
