THE MEDIA AND THEIR ONGOING SUPPORT FOR ABUSE.

I felt just a little sorry for Pope Francis on his visit to Ireland.    The poor man really poured out his heart during the Mass at Phoenix Park, praying for abuse victims, and for forgiveness for bishops and priests who had carried out or hidden the abuses.   He was having a hard time from the media who sat back and adopted the usual "Not Enough" headlines.    I believe the media carries a greater responsibility than Pope Francis.

The first scandal that rocked the Church in 2002 was put down to many things including celibacy and although it was pointed out that even then 4 out of 5 victims were homosexual predators the media were not having that.   Gay groups stood up and called this hate for homosexuals, homophobic.   We were condemning all homosexuals and so on.    But this time it was a Pennsylvania Court which had investigated 8 Diocese and found that 300 priests had been involved in abusing pubescent adults and young seminarians, a secular court, stated that 4 out of 5 abuses had been the result of homosexual predators and 1 in 5 were the victims of heterosexual predators.     Now I do not go around reading all the newspapers, but I know that the BBC has been almost totally ignoring this news because they would have to face up to this fact of homosexual predators and that is against their diversity principles.    Ireland has also suffered from a very strong sexual predator mafia and it is only when this is discussed openly and action taken that the Church will be able to control sex abuse.

Now we know the right thing to do from a health and safety point of view is to stop homosexuals from becoming priests.   Now again I am not saying that every priest with same sex attraction is a sexual abuser but that too many are, we must put the defence  of children and young people first and ensure that no homosexual predator will use the Church again to attack young people. It will cause quite an uproar for the media  with their usual PC kick up, fuss, and hatred of everything Catholic but we must do the right thing and put our young people first.  After all we know the media does not really care.
