ST PETER JULIAN EYNARD; Apostle of the Blessed Sacrament.

Today the 3rd August is the Feast of St Peter Julian Eynard who was given the title of the Apostle of the Blessed Sacrament.   When his mother was expecting him she went to pray to Jesus in the Tabernacle and asked him to take her baby into his Service.   His Mother often visited Jesus in the Tabernacle and when Peter was young she would take him along with her.   In later life he constantly talked to Jesus in the Tabernacle and joined the Marist Fathers.     But his love for Jesus, true God and True Man, filled his every being.    He spent so much time talking to his Saviour that the Marists rationed his time and told him he could not spend more that a certain time with Jesus.    He would often passed the Tabernacle and wept for it was not time for his return.    Eventually he founded his own Religious Order the Congregation of the Most Holy Sacrament whee he started Perpetual Adoration.

I have found in my watch that yes, I am growing closer to Jesus and becoming his friend.    I do not pray as when I first started but have learned to talk and to wait for his inspirations.    Do become a Friend of Jesus.   He wants you to come with your problems and he will console you, he wants you to ask him for what you need in your personal life and also the many graces he cannot wait to give you.    Do not sit at home worrying go round to your Holy Place, the  Church and give him your worries.    I was just reading in the Gospel the story of the woman who came to Jesus in Bethany and poured very expensive oil over his head.    The by-standers were indignant.   Could she not have sold the oil and given the proceeds to the poor.    But Jesus turned to them and said "The poor you have always with you and you will have time to serve them at your will, but me you will not always have. She is anointing me for my burial.      And I tell you that wherever the Gospel is preached the story of what this woman did will be told".    Now this is a puzzling story for those who spend their time doing things in the church, raising money for the poor, and giving to every charity because this is what they believe is all Jesus wants of them.    But the story is to be told to everyone Jesus said for this woman was concerned only with loving Jesus.   She could have used the oil on herself but no, nothing was too good for the Lord she loved.     So what do we sacrifice for the Lord we love, or do we?    "Can you not watch one hour with me?" Jesus asked his disciples in the Garden of Olives.   But they were too tired.    Now the same Jesus who was in the Mount of Olives is asking the same question from the Tabernacle "Can you not watch one hour with me?"    Let us sacrifice him at least five minutes if that is all we have, and let us adore Him in the Tabernacle in our Holy Place the Church.  He waists for us, and delights in our company.
