The Ruin of a Chapel, and the ruin of a Faith.

Sometimes when I switch on my blog and look at the blogs I have written there appears at the top posts from the past.   One post recently was a post about a former Seminary in Scotland, or rather the ruins of a beautiful chapel that was built there in the 1960's.    In the early 60's the seminary had about 40 young men training as priests.   Then came the evils attributed to Vatican II, we were introduced to a new Church, a Church of mature people who could think for themselves, who were given management of the Church, and in no time at all, there were no more vocations, there were no more teenagers attending Church for the schools had introduced a 'mature' programme which alienated them, and of course a 'new morality' for what mature person could possibly put up with the idea that they committed sin.    So it was very much thumbs down to Jesus and thumbs up to a church for the 20th century, where a Jesus was invented who did not talk about hell, sin, divorce, adultery, and everyone inside was happy while the majority of baptised Catholics decided to remain outside.   So the incomes fell and savings had to be made and the Chapel in the seminary was sacrificed with no thought that it was a holy place, and the Bishops and priests simply walked out the door, leaving it to be vandalised and turned into a slum.   No efforts were made to ensure the building at least was protected.   How could people who believed in Jesus Christ do this?    We can only pray that Jesus will return his Church to believers, those who 'live in the past' and fail to see the Reformation in the sixties as a blessing.
