Restoring Marriage as a sign of the Love of Christ.

Jesus never promised happiness.  He told his followers to take up their cross and follow Him.   One of the Crosses he gave us to carry was to live the life he wanted us to live in a society which opposed us living it.  Marriage is one very good example.  I watched a video recently on Humanae Vitae and the audience was talking about the right of married couples and the difficulty of living `the Rhythm Method`.  The first objection I had was that Humanae Vitae warned of the dangers of a contraceptive mentality among all catholics INCLUDING YOUNG PEOPLE  and Natural Family Planning moved on a long time ago from the imperfect Rhythm Method.   In Humanae Vitae catholics were warned  that marriages would increasingly fail.   There are now many parishes which can go through a whoe year with no couples wanting marriage.   Young people just live together.   The enemies within, priests and bishops, used this to start teaching error about following conscience.  Pope Francis has realised the seriousness of the situation and is calling a Synod this year.   But of course the enemy is busy.  Cardinal Kasper and the German bishops want to follow their agenda and use this to destroy Catholic Marriage and the teachings of Jesus on Divorce and Remarriage.   The laxed atmosphere of `Community` where the appointed leaders follow the laxed bureaucrats and refuse to take Jesus seriously callling this compassion despite the evidence of the Gospel that Jesus was probably the most judgemental person of them all, they are expecting the Church to allow divorced and remarried people to receive Communion since de facto many of them have such faith that they ignore the Church anyhow.   But what a comfort this would be.   I am talking here about the many leaders who will not allow anyone to quote Jesus on this.   There are  and probably the majority of cases  couples who are caught up in a second marriage and do feel pain.   They were the victims of the `Spirit of Vatican II` who learned nothing about the Sacraments and the wonderful love Christ can show within marriage.  In Portsmouth we will have about 20 years before these false teachers disappear and are replaced by the young traditional people who are filling the Church and the seminaries, but a time will come when the cockle and the wheat will be separated and there will be an abundant harvest.

FAIR AS THE MOON, BRIGHT AS THE SUN, TERRIBLE AS AN ARMY SET IN BATTLE ARRAY

'Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array'. The above quote will be familiar to only a few Catholics today,   It was once on the lips of members of the Legion of Mary which was present in many parishes.    Fair as the moon and bright as the sun certainly describes Our Lady of Fatima but who exactly is meant by 'terrible as an army set in battle array?'   Certainly Our Lady appeared to ask us to pray for the conversion of sinners many of who were going to Hell for their sins as forewarned by her Son Jesus when he preachedHis Gospel.  Often we are trying and feel we are succeeding in living good lives when suddenly everything goes wrong  Like St Paul we often do the things we do not want to do rather than those that we want to do.   It is because we are involved in a war between Good and Evil and we are the children of Mary that the red Dragon wishes to devour in Revelations 12    We

The meaning of 'virgo Immaculata'

As you will see from the stained glass window the name given to the image is Virgo Immaculata.   Mary was the virgin who remained sinless and spotless.  Yes she would have been tempted by Satan, but as the image shows she kept close to God in prayer and all the wiles of Satan, the forbidden fruit he offered, depictdd by the apple, ended up stuck in his throat while the right foot of Mary crushed his head. "I will put enmity between Thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed", God tole the serpent in Genesis   Satan was no match for Jesus who was God made Man but he had overcome a mere mortal before in Eve, What a triumph it would have been to destroy she whom Jesus loved above al others - his mother.   But Mary kept close to Jesus and to God, the new Eve, and mother of the new children that the death of Jesus brought into being.    And as Revelations 12 tells us having failed to destroy the birth of Jesus Satan  went after her other children - us.       When
