Towards a Moral Society.

Now that families are locked down together we have news that many are growing closer together and family life is being encouraged and indeed promoted by the media.   This is all to the good.   Unfortunately there is the other side where the story is that parents are being imprisoned together and probably hatred rather than love is leading to violence both on a partner and the children   This is not so good.

So many young people are in what they call relationships.   They meet someone to whom they are strongly attracted and they believe this attraction is love.   They go on to confuse sex with love and this keeps them together for a time.   They may even get married.   But the attraction is an illusion of love and not love itself, and when trials come that test how much one partner is devoted to the good of the other, the relationship collapses.    If they conceive children, then the children grow up without experiencing the love of a father for a mother or a mother for a father, two people who sacrifice for each other, who seek the good of each other, and the children are badly hurt emotionally.   If a father leaves the children often believe they are to blame, and grow up feeling that perhaps they are unloveable.   Sometimes, they blame the mother for driving their father away.  It will not be said openly, but it creates a chasm between the mother and especially a daughter.   Yet so many mothers are the innocent party in all of this.   But all these feelings can affect the outcome of the child's own future relationships.   They need love so much they build a 'castle of dreams' around anyone who comes forward like a Prine Charmng, yet when they start living together the Prince becomes an Ogre.

Why am I writing all this?   I am not a psychologist, it is just something I have observed through the years.  There are very strong families in society and yet there are a rising number of weak and problematic ones .   What makes the matter worse is that society does not care enough to recognise that there is a moral dilemma here, something about right and wrong, which they will not recognise.
Indeed it is alarming that they do not believe there is a need in a chid for a father and a mother   And when they do they cannot solve it, for they no longer can use moral terms or stress that a one child family is not desirable.  It could offend.   Yes, they can say many wise things, but a society without morals cannot judge, and when it cannot judge it only brings more sufferings.
