THE FAILURE OF THE SECULAR STATE

I am moving on in years and perhaps I will die soon and for that I will be grateful.   I have lived through the years when secularism took over our country.  I have seen pornography grow as an industry to destroy Christian morality.  I remember a lady called Mary Whitehouse calling for the media to be responsible when nudes in the press and bed scenes in film and tv left nothing for the imagination.  At length we did start classifying these as Adult programmes but by then sex was a recreational pursuit.    In schools there was a call for more and more contraceptives as young people responded to the new 'freedoms' the secular state had introduced.    The in Britain in the sixties and MP David Steele introduced an Abortion Bill    We were assured that it was ridiculous to say that this would lead to Abortion on Demand, but it did not take very long for any attempt to control abortion to be sunk without trace.   We moved from bring allows to destroy a 'baby' in the womb to the point where there were so many women into second, third, and further abortions that the very humanity of the 'baby' was called into question in order to stop a very lucrative trade and to help women feel less guilty about their actions.    But guilt does not go away easily and so there were campaigns to make more and more women attracted to abortion.   And those who spread the 'good news' felt better about themselves.   But it must be said that the changing social conditions meant that many women and young girls had abortions which they did not want or were pressured into.   The alternative to Abortion is not a question that radial feminists are comfortable with.

However there was another group of people caught up in this.   The homosexuals in society.    ow whether homosexual acts are right or wrong is a moral question, but it is not a question of law.   Two consenting males or females have every right to adultery as much as heterosexuals so long as they hurt nobody.    But the more radical among them wanted much more.   They wanted homosexuality to be seen as moral and right   They went so far that they began to present themselves as no different in sex from anybody else.   They were certainly right in the sense that their adultery was no more sinful than heterosexual adultery.  But they wanted to go further and say that their sexual attraction was equal to that of a heterosexual couple.   The point in their way was marriage.  So to gain equality they claimed the same right to marriage as heterosexuals.    Now let us be  clear.   It is nature that has decreed that in any species there are males and females who mate so that the species can survive.   The male and the female work together for the good of the young for they are both bonded by paternity or maternity.   This  means they both work together for the good of the young.    But homosexual marriage can never HAVE THIS EQUALITY.    With all the modern day technology it still remains true that only one can be a true parent of the child.   It flows their marriage can never be equal to a heterosexual marriage.    

But worse was to come.   In their efforts to justify themselves, homosexuals began to  ally themselves with transgender people.   They too had been produced by nature.   Women who grew up believing they were men, and men who grew up believing they were women.   Again there is the insistence that everyone believes this or there is no equality.    But like the homosexual insistence  that they are natural there is no objective basis that this is true.   There is nowhere in nature an eqivalent despite the protests that there are.    A man dressed up as a woman is a man dressed up as a women, and a woman dressed up as a man is a woman dressed up as a man.   Yes, there are feelings involved and hurtful feelings involved but to ignore the truth is to do something worse - to patronise and treat them like children.   They demand the respect that one human being should have for one another.   They are human in every way and loved by God as much as anyone else, and this is what real equality is about. 

But what kind of a world have we built since the sexual revolution.   Many young men go out with women not for themselves but for their bodies.   The girls are abandoned when they become pregnant and become single mothers of a family   Again sex as a sport does not teach faithfulness and chastity within marriage and divorce becomes too easy.   So we have thousands of single families in the UK and they form the bulk of families described as 'living in poverty'.    You can listen to politicians bleating all day about the poor and yet many of them are the ones who created this poverty by accepting 'sex without responsibility'.    Little wonder we have food banks, so many children growing up with no future but to follow in mothers footsteps and many of them taking to drugs and depression.   Then there are the knife crimes.  Then there are the rising suicides.  Then there are the drugs and the rapes and murders,    But how can we replace the secular society?    By being a christian not just to praise God and feel good but by listening carefully to what Jesus said about all of these things and standing shoulder to shoulder with him to put them right.
