YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE; IT IS LITTLE CHILDREN MARY NEEDS.

My last post was quite depressing and when I read it again I almost despaired for I lived through the changes Sr. Mariana talked about and felt completely helpless.   I saw the secular programme in Catholic Schools driving out the truths that were once taught and the devotions of the heart cast aside as childish.   And I saw the results in the way that young people began to despise the Church yes, and began to lose their innocence.  I witnessed the spread of divorce as the Church co-operated with questionable annulments so that "you can get an annulment" was the usual response to anyone who left a spouse even from Catholics who should have known better.   The Church was not changed in these matters to bring it closer to Christ, but to bring it closer to the secular state.

But what can we do?   Should we go about stamping our feet asI once did?   No this is a battle to decide not just the future of the Church but the future of the world.    If we look at the world today, with so much hate, so much killing and so many attacks on the ten commandments, is this really what Jesus died on the Cross to bring into being?   Where is the Kingdom he died for?

At Fatima Mary asked three little children to change the world.   She did not ask them to visit the Governments and threaten them with fire and brimstone, nor grow up to be world leaders.  As a mother she asked that they say the Rosary, pray for the conversion of sinners who are causing such evil, and make reparation for the offences against the hearts of Jesus and Mary.   From a purely human point of view this sounds ridiculous.    We need great leaders, great politicians, loud and eloquent voices, not Mrs Murphy sitting in the Church saying her rosary.  But when we say this we fail to understand the Gospel.   This is not a human battle only,  but  a  battle between good and evil.   There is a devil, there are evil angels, there is a hell, and people go to Hell and what we see in  the world today is that fight between good and evil.   To deny this is to deny the words of Jesus in the Gospel, and to deny his words is to deny Jesus Himself, and to put ourselves in the ranks of his enemy.    Mrs Murphy saying her Rosary is bringing more comfort to God that all the words and sermons of all he great theologians of the Church put together.   She is showering grace into the world by appealing to God to hear her prayers through Mary.   Grace brings goodness and goodness overcomes the evil one.

Three little children, Francesco who was seven, Jacinta who was eight, and Lucia who was ten quickly understood this since they were taught by the Queen of Heaven herself.   "Unless you  become as little children you cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven"  Jesus once told his disciples.     So let us stop mocking the faith of children and the childlike Mrs Murphy with her Rosary beads.   Mary is calling us to save the world from a catastrophe   And all we hate do is pray and do penance.   Not much to ask.   So why are we not listening?.
