Mary, Our Mother

One of the wonderful things about the Father is that in his creation of family he did not leave us  without a Mother.  The Father saw all things that would happen in his creation and how despite his love many would sin against Him and before creation he already had a plan.  Mary was part of that plan. That is why she is called the Star of the Morning.  She was always in God's plan for God knew that when she was conceived without sin, she would be the one who would keep loving him and never rebel.    So in Genesis the prophecies to the serpent "I will put enmity between Thee and the woman and between her seed and yours, she will crush your head and you will lie in wait for her heel".   When her demotion started in the 1970's much of scripture was changed to help the process, so there was a reluctance to follow the meaning of putting enmity between the serpent and the woman and there was a sudden unexplainable change of gender which made the passage nonsense.   Just as in scripture "Hail, full of grace..." became "Hail, highly favoured one....", but in the end the 'scholars' only deceived themselves.
How much did Jesus love His Mother?    Even this came under scrutiny.   But let us go to the Cross, Jesus said "Woman behold your son, Son behold your mother"  In a previous scripture Jesus had told the disciples that John would not die in the way that they would for he had a special task for John   And John did look after Mary for the rest of her life.
Mary next appears at the Council of Jerusalem.   The Disciples were debating and trying to make sense of all that had happened.   For probably the first time a woman was sitting with them and that woman was Mary.   She was not preparing the food or being a serving maid, or organising the cooking, she was there with then in their deliberations for she had so much to tell them since not one of them knew Jesus as she did.   How the disciples must have loved her.
This care of the Church was still hers when she joined her son and the saints in Heaven.   Throughout the ages  the feeling of tenderness towards Mary and the love that those who esteemed her felt in their hearts was something so wonderful.   Mary loved the handiwork of her Son and watched over the disciples of today in the same way she watched over them in Jerusalem.    "Now there appeared in Heaven a woman robed with the sun, and standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." This comes from Revelation 12.    Revelations then goes on to tell us of the battle between this woman who was pregnant and the dragon who waited to devour her offspring.    Was this not the prophesy in Genesis,  "I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between your seed and her speed"   We are told however that failing to devour her son, the dragon went after her other children.   But what other children?   The woman was crowned as a Queen and we are her subjects, but more, we are her children.    Mother.  We love you.
