Evangelisation: The Problem with Single Parent Families.
In the 1970's and early 1980's I knew 5 single parent families. I watched their children grow up to be single parents also. And then their children grew up to be single parents. It was quite obvious to me the there was a pattern here, and that something was missing in their lives. The answer was of course quite obvious, they all lacked a father. I remember a former Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police commenting on TV when asked about the knifing gangs telling the listeners that the majority lacked parenting from a Father. He was quickly cut off, for the secular world does not see the role of a father as any different from the role of a mother. Indeed in their left wing dogma, marriage itself is about the dominance of a man over a woman, and its elimination was seen as the first step towards equality. So when we talk about the poor families who go to food banks, it is not in the interests of left wing politics to draw attention to the predominance of single parent families. Perhaps it would draw attention to the lack of responsibility in sexual unions, where a man can make a woman pregnant with a child, and just walk away. Well, what hardship does that bring? I have often wondered where the equality was in this. Still, the state has other offers, and abortion is one of them. What the woman has to do is just force herself into believing that there is really no baby, and anyway, what is there is not human. This is the price to be paid so that women can enjoy sex as much as men.
Black Lives Matter, highlighted that there was inequality in poor black homes, and there was a lack of opportunity for black children. I am glad that this was noticed for black people, but the truth is that there are more white children suffering the same deprivation. It is just that in London black families live in a ghetto close together. I heard a black doctor who works among them telling us on TV that the black mothers are fearful every day when they send their children to school, that they will not come back, but fall foul of the knife gangs. She was not interested in how many blacks were searched, she just was concerned about the safety of the children, and wanted something done. Yes, whether black or white most of these children feel deprived and unwanted, and fail at school, and face empty lives, the majority not finding marriage but single motherhood, since they did not have a father figure to love them and relationships with boys they find difficult. Sometimes their search for love is so intense, that boys find them so easy.
So I have bashed the State, and I will move on to bash the Church. I am not aware that the Church even knows that single-parent families are a problem that needs a special ministry. They seem to take their guidance from the State, and that great institution of failure, the Catholic Education Service, where people get paid for ensuring that children do not move from School to the Church, and have been so successful, that at 13 most children are atheists, well they, the CES, are so busy snuggling up close to the Government and to the Active Gay Communities, that apparently next year a new Relationship programme is to be introduced. There is a question as to whether parents will be able to withdraw their child from this programme. But every new relationship programme that has been introduced over the past 40 years is a huge success, even though the problems do not disappear, giving rise to a much more successful and better programmes, which also fails. No the Church shows not sign of Imitating Christ and teaching purity and chastity.
May I end by praising these young girls who despite much pressure keep their babies. Thy struggle in their lives because they wanted to love the child in their womb. They have little in their lives, but they are truly heroic in their love. God bless them, every day of their lives and the lives of their children.
