Did Vatican II say that No Church has the complete message of Christ - it is shared.

In a blog I posted "Am I the only one going to Heaven" I spoke about the nun who claimed that all Churches shared the Truth and none had a monopoly.  And that of course was Vatican II.   Now this boils down to something very simple - was that true or was it not true  if  you are not interested in what is true and not true and just want to suit yourself then you are advised to read no further, for you are not of God.   So what did the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church say.............................................................................................................................................................18. For the nurturing and constant growth of the People of God, Christ the Lord instituted in His Church a variety of ministries, which work for the good of the whole body. For those ministers, who are endowed with sacred power, serve their brethren, so that all who are of the People of God, and therefore enjoy a true Christian dignity, working toward a common goal freely and in an orderly way, may arrive at salvation.
This Sacred Council, following closely in the footsteps of the First Vatican Council, with that Council teaches and declares that Jesus Christ, the eternal Shepherd, established His holy Church, having sent forth the apostles as He Himself had been sent by the Father;(136) and He willed that their successors, namely the bishops, should be shepherds in His Church even to the consummation of the world. And in order that the episcopate itself might be one and undivided, He placed Blessed Peter over the other apostles, and instituted in him a permanent and visible source and foundation of unity of faith and communion.(1*) And all this teaching about the institution, the perpetuity, the meaning and reason for the sacred primacy of the Roman Pontiff and of his infallible magisterium, this Sacred Council again proposes to be firmly believed by all the faithful. Continuing in that same undertaking, this Council is resolved to declare and proclaim before all men the doctrine concerning bishops, the successors of the apostles, who together with the successor of Peter, the Vicar of Christ,(2*) the visible Head of the whole Church, govern the house of the living God.........Lumen Gentium.

So if we go back to my previous blog the next step in discovering honesty is to ask - was I correct or was she correct.   Now I am not going to condemn anyone for I was around when these changes were happening.   You trusted in the priest and that what he said was in line with Catholic Teaching and why on earth should you have listened to people like me.    I accepted that even at the time nevertheless I was conscious bound to speak up for the Church that Jesus founded no matter what the cost.     And it did cost.    But again about 45 years on I am asking the question again where is the source of such teachings?   Did you catch that line....the Roman Pontif and his INFALLIBLE  MAGISTERIUM.....

Now as far as converts go what many of them are looking for is a rock in their lives.    When they have certainty they feel safe. And when the certainty we offer comes from Jesus Himself and we show from scripture and history what he wants of them their lives are changed.    When they hear about the Catholic Church being the One True Church they come along to perhaps an RCIA meeting but someone tells them we no longer have that certainty - we are now ecumenical, in other words it is nice that you came to us but really we are not all that different, how disappointed they must feel.    In the forties and fifties 4 out of 5 converts remained but now 4 out of 5 converts leave, they know and they sense they are not being told the truth.    You certainly can take 'people from where they are'  but you still have to show them where they are going.   This is the Catholic Church and what she teaches, and we want to work with  you so that you are able to accept her.    Any other approach is pure hypocrisy for you are taking the person from where they are to nowhere and no one should be baptised unless the know and accept the 'fulness of the Catholic Faith"

Having published this there will be many of the usual reactions.from different readers.    "Stop living in the Past",  "We now have and Adult Church"   "You cannot turn the clock back"  and the most common "Do not listen to him, he is negative"   Defending the Truths that Christ meant for us is never negative"   But no matter who you are may Jesus and Mary Bless You.
