Does Pope Francis Really Believe the Church can be Popular?

One of the titles given to King James I of England and Scotland was that he was the 'Wisest Fool in Christendom'.  The problem for James was that he had left Scotland and was living with the English so felt obliged to prove that he was a man of wisdom in order to gain support.   He wanted to be popular.   Pope Francis I should say first is not acting to make himself popular but he is foolish enough to believe that he can make the Catholic Church popular.   From my viewpoint, though others may disagree, he has not contradicted any doctrines of the Church and at times as valiantly upheld them but the trouble is he believes he can uphold what the Church teaches in a popular way.   Hence the saying "Who am I to judge you" is good Catholic doctrine, judge the sin and not the sinner, but Pope Francis was deliberately misleading the world into believing that the Church really is not too bothered about homosexuality.   He got what he wanted - popularity.   And with other ambiguous statements he seemed to be making the Catholic Church a nice chummy place.   He attacked the Pro-Life movement for making abortion such a major issue, he dismantled the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate for saying Latin Masses which the world did not like and he even attacked Catholics for spending too much time in prayer and not enough in the streets looking after the poor.    All these things condemned by the secular world he cossied up to just to make the Catholic Church popular.  But now he has gone a step too far.   Informed people know there is no consensus on Climate Change and the computer models are not predicting as they should.   The Antarctic has frozen over to levels beyond the prediction and beyond any level since recording began.   There is no danger then to the poor in low lying countries.   The ice on the Arctic expands and contracts and does not behave the way the computer models predicted.   There has been no major rise in temperature.   Yes there has been storms and hurricanes  but there always has been storms and hurricanes bringing disaster to nations.    They are nothing new yet they are used to frighten people.   But in comes Pope Francis in his bid to make the Catholic Church popular and lines up the Church alongside those who seek only a World Government and Dictatorship and control of the world market.   If in the 18th Century the use of fossil fuels had been considered an evil then the West would not have the prosperity it has to day through the Industrial Revolution.  On what theological premise does Pope Francis make this statement.   Certainly we are stewards of the earth but this does not mean we can not use the riches the earth provides us with.   And how may I ask will the poverty in the African continent be resolved, a continent where capital was not invested for the good of the people to provide higher standards of living and prosperity.  Under this Pope guidance they will remain in poverty.     Of course Glabal Warming is a means to an end for those involved.   It is meant to tear down the Captialist system and begin the task of controlling not just how a country develops but the word 'sustainability will apply also to population control, the availability of contraception, abortion law enforcement, and  economies will  no longer be in the hands of Captitalists but rather a new 'Communism'.   If Pope Francis refuses to go along with the sustainability programme and to his credit his encyclical does indicate his opposition to these things, he will nevertheless be branded a hypocrite and the Catholic Church with him    His final lesson will be that you cannot make the Catholic Church popular if it stands by the principles given to us by Jesus Christ and as He said "Wonder not that the World should hate you for they hated me before you".    One area the Pope touches on is however at the heart of the matter and it is here that the eco-system is very much at risk.   He mentions an internationalisation of the Amazon region.   As we know Carbon does not go up into the air any more than oxygen and form a greenhouse effect.  Plant life both on the earth and in the sea are dependent on the carbon from animal life for their existence and the oxygen that plant life breathes out is necessary for the survival of human life.   Both support each other and that is the essence of the ecology system.  The uninhabited cutting down of large areas of the Rain forests of the world threatens human life more than global warming.   The preservation of these large oxygen producing areas is vital and the exploitation must be stopped.   Again sharing with the poor is a wonderful phrase but as with Africa what these countries need is the ability to produce their own wealth.  The West is rich because it used fossil fuels such as coal during their Industrial Revolutions.  African must not be denied this right much longer.
