Communion Why it Failed Part 2
One of the things Jesus stressed was that you would know what was from God bay the results of the work done. "By their fruits you will know them" So what were the fruits of 'Communion'.
We have seen how Modernism which Pope St Pius X called " the synthesis of all heresies" rather than take a community towards God actually took the in the opposite direction. From the teaching of First Holy Communion and going on to Confirmation where the majority of young people only turned up because of their parents insistence the emphasis on Communion was a disaster and alienated the young from the Church. Jesus dying for love of them made no sense to young people if they were going to heaven anyway. That Jesus died for our sins to fit us for Heaven was frowned upon for we must not make young people feel guilty like the nasty Pre-Vatican Church. They did hot seem to realise that it is not enough to tell young people that Jesus loved them but they must give the young people a reason to love Jesus. However Communion had moved then away from the true Jesus and they ignored his teachings on adultery, divorce, and marriage. They began to help others to commit the sin of homosexuality and indeed embraced the 'core values' of our godless society. What they were doing to our young they seemed unable to grasp. Like society they began to teach contraception in our Catholic Schools, which led the way to multi-relationships, unfaithfulness, and young men losing their manliness in that they did not see that if they fathered a child they had a duty to provide and protect the mother and the child. Women were expeted to live as single mothers or deny the humanity of the child and have an abortion and the numbers grew, and within marriage leaving your wife became an accepted part of our modern society. Indeed when sex was a recreation before marriage how could men be expected to settle down after marriage. Such things not only broke the hearts of women.. There are thousands of young people now growing up with broken hearts because they never had a father ,and the thought that their natural father did not want them really hurts. Did you know that girls who grew up in Childrens Homes form over 70% of women who sell themselves in prostitution. These poor girls never had the love of a father nor a mother. Politicians keep talking about the poor, but it is their core values that have created the poor, the majority of whom are growing up in broken homes, What I am saying is that unless we do things the way that Christ taught us, there cab never be a coming of the Kingdom and we will continue to destroy our children and give them a world of hate and cruelty.
So we must be rid of Communion and get back to the love of Jesus who transforms bread into his body so that we can speak to him, adore him, and love him. That is what the Blessed Sacrament is all about. Children have wonderful imaginations and they can believe in Jesus being present in bread better than adults. Notice I did not say understand Jesus being present in bread for they never will NOR WILL ADULTS. The Tabernacle should be returned to the centre of the altar where large numbers can gather and speak to him. To put the tabernacle and Jesus in a corner is to mock God Himself.
One of the core ideas also brought into the parish which was not helpful was the idea that the parish belonged to the community. This was to replace we were told dictatorial parish priest. What actual happnned in many parishes was that the dictatorial parish priest was replaced by dictatorial lay people who declared that the parish was their parish and the priest and the people must abide by the norms that they and their co-dictators decided. Each parish would have its own particular tradition based not on the will of the people but on the will of the dictating minority. The parish priest acts on behalf of the bishop and the bishop acts on behalf of the Pope. We have as the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church of Vatican II stated 'a hierarchical Church' It is the priest who is the shepherd and answerable to God. No lay person should dare think they have more power than the priest and where this replacement was carried out the ordinary catholic was persecuted and denied the right in many cases to practice his or her Catholic Faith. and have his children taught the Catholic Faith.
But there is a bigger question I have been confronted with in recent days. Jesus the good Shepherd had built his Church as a teaching Authority (Matthew 28). He appointed disciples to be shepherds, as is taugh in the Dogmatic Constitution of the Church of Vatican II. Again if this is true and a casual glance at the document reveals that this is , on whose authority did the sheep begin to lead the shepherds? Christ preserved the Church in the truth through this hierarchical structure which he founded. When the sheep began to lead the shepherd it led to the destruction of the young because hirelings only cause chaos. I have been involved in a scandal in recent days which demonstrates more than words the kind of Church that sheep without a shepherd build. However that is for a later date.
