Immigrants to Britain: Toeing the line and losing the Faith.

Well maybe the first generation will not lose the Faith but certainly when their children have gone through the Catholic Education System which prides itself in being free of devotions and doctrine then 95 per cent of them will be alienated from the Church.   I doubt if anyone will even question this which shows how lacking in humility the Church has become.  A failing education is kept going by claps on the back, an inflated sense of pride in a job well done because there are no alternatives, and people who just use religion because now they do not have to be faithful to Christ or anyone else.   We are just a large pot of different ingredients trying to satisfy everyone s taste.    Some have moved forward and they are the intelligent ones who can think for themselves and boast that they do so.  On the other hand there are the stupid ignorant Catholics who still cling to the Faith the Catholic Church proclaims, who still follow Jesus in everything, and who still believe that Jesus came to give witness to the truth which is preserved in their Church.    But then I suppose Jesus must have lied to Pilate for we have no truth.   Clever bishops and priests have said so and Father is always right.    But going back to the immigrants it appears that those who would tell us that there is no truth are the most adamant in denying others the right to celebrate their Faith.   People from Eastern Europe are noted for their devotion to Mary but are they allowed to express devotions, let us say have a Marian procession in the parishes?   Can their children kneel for their First Holy Communion or can they, the immigrants kneel, on a bench provided, most certainly not.   And what of their tradition to receive on the tongue.  In how many schools will their children be able to say the Angelus?  No, we got rid of these childish devotions.   The most amazing fact of all is that they and indeed British Catholics can hear their Faith being sneered at by people who profess to take ecumenism very seriously.  They are open to all religions except that of faithful Catholics in a Catholic Church.   But then being spiritually blind is the essence of bigotry.      Meanwhile the immigrants occupying seats with their children give the clergy a false sense of success which they will learn nothing from in any way whatsoever.   A bishop once said Gone are the days of the Dictatorial Parish Priest.   Really?
