A report in the Catholic Herald  of a survey from the Benedictines at St Mary's Twickenham shows just how much the Church has failed over the past 40 years.   Despite our Catholic Schools many ex pupils do not even see themselves as Catholic.   We make practically no converts from those who do not believe in God.   And whereas the over 64 age group is steadfast the greatest non attendance is between the 40 to 64 age group who were catechised at the time of deceit and dishonesty.   But catechises has improved and there are more under 40's attending thats the 40 to 60 age group. This is observable by any catholic attending Mass over the 40 year period.   My own experience is from protesting about the lack of devotion to the Eucharist and the lack of Adoration to seeing in my parish Adoration on a regular basis, from protesting at an attempt to exclude the Hail Mary from the bidding prayers to devotions where we now turn to the statue of Mary and sing the Sal...

There is one priest whom I respect very much and that is Bishop Fellay of the SSPX.   In the SSPX there are many different kinds of people just as in he main stream Church and in both there are those who want to make me scream.  It is just the rich tapestry of life needing a wash. But Bishop Fellay is a man you cannot but like he is humble and listens to others and is full of wisdom. I bought this statue some time ago.   It stands in my garden and sometimes the family gather round to say the Rosary.  In the 70's and 80's when everyone was guided by the Hol Spirit to debunk the Catholic Faith I remember the Holy Family came under attack by a Revolutionary.   He did not see it as a good model for family life - it probably had something to do with no sex. But what makes this family holy is the great love of its members.  St Joseph the Guardian and Protector of Mary and her son Jesus.  He provided a home and an income to support them both and raised Jesus to do many things and Jesus when young probably stood beside him in the Temple learning so much about the Jewish Faith. Mary knew she had the protection of Joseph and nor harm would befall her or her child.   So her task was to be a mother like every other mother and look after Joseph and Jesus and help Jesus explecially to grow in wisdom.  Her special love for Jesus her son ...

For two thousand years the bringing of the Gospel into the world (the teachings of Christ) has been known as EVANGELISATION.    And it was not just by preaching the Word but also by living the Word.   People could look at the Catholic Church and see how the values given to it by Christ contradicted the values of the world.   People like St Augustine were impressed by the faithfulness of young people to chastity before marriage, to faithfulness within marriage, and the example set by parents to children and the love shown by parents to children.  There was very little divorce and remarriage for that was the values the world taught.   He did not see just loving communities, or people of Faith, but people who followed the teachings of He whom...

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THE SELF PRAISING AND CONCEITED CATHOLIC CHURCH IN THIS COUNTRY. WHEN THE REFORMERS TOOK OVER THE RUNNING OF MY PARISH THE FIRST TO SUFFER WERE THE YOUNG. REAL CATHOLIC TEACHING WAS REPLACED BY SLAPSTICK PARODIES ON LOVE BEING ALL THAT MATTERED. ON THE ONE HAND CHILDREN WERE TOLD THAT JESUS LOVED THEM BUT ON THE OTHER THERE WERE PEOPLE CLAIMING THAT THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS WERE JUST RULES AND ABSTRACT PRINCIPLES. BUT THEN THEY HAD NO REAL INTEREST IN THE YOUNG AND DID NOT GIVE A DAMN WHETHER YOUNG PEOPLE CAME TO CHURCH OR NOT. THIS WAS 'THEIR' COMMUNITY'. I BEGAN TO MEET YOUNG CHILDREN WHO HAD BEEN HURT BY DIVORCE OR HAD NO FATHER IN THIER LIVES. ALTHOUGH SOME HAD VERY GOOD MOTHERS THE CHILDREN HAD NO FUTURE AND SAW THEY HAD NO FUTURE. THEY WERE UNABLE TO MAKE THE KIND OF RELATIONSHIPS THAT WOULD LEAD TO HAPPY MARRIAGES. AS IT TURNED OUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL OF THESE CHILDREN - THEY NOW ARE SINGLE PARENTS OF THEIR OWN CHILDREN STRUGGLIN...
